Manila. Leyte. Cebu. Bohol. Mindanao.

For 3 days we were in such an amazing little place...
BayBay, Leyte. The people don't speak Taglog, they speak Waray and Cebuano. I am learning a little bit.
I saw a tarsier for the first time a couple nights ago, it was Nate's first time too.
The food is generally good and the people are, well, pretty incredible. We are the only white people I have seen in the town of BayBay. Sometimes I feel like I am a celebrity with the way people/children stare and sometimes say hi and then laugh and feel so embarrassed. Most people at least know a little English. :)

We spent our time in Baybay mostly at the university.
One day, Gillian and I were tromping thru the forest and we came upon some farmers who smiled at us and said, "snack? snack?" They shared their snack with us --- boiled cassava with sauce made of just young, sweet coconut...using the shell of the coconut for a bowl. Very, very sweet.

Then we took a ferry to Cebu. Then, to Tagbilaran in Bohol which is where we are at now. We already visited the tarsier sanctuary and tomorrow we are probably headed to Mindanao to see more tarsiers and to finally work with our first human population.

Safe, happy, and healthy.
