Esme's Favorite Herbs and Supplements for Health and Well-being

For different brands, dosages, etc., and if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have any special medical conditions, please do your own research to assess if these are options for you. As always, you should know that I am not a medical professional and these are just my favorite supplements and herbs gleaned from 10 years of experience.

Non-pharmaceutical antibiotics to use for viral or bacterial infections

  • Oregano oil*
  • Olive leaf
  • GSE (grapefruit seed extract) by Nutribiotic*
  • Topical - tea tree oil, lavender oil

General supplements to help fight infection

  • Zinc*
  • Colloidal silver
  • Elderflower 
  • Echinacea 

Vaginal health

UTI prevention and treatment:
  • Uva ursi
  • D-mannose*
  • Tons of lemon water and a probiotic 
  • Raspberry leaf tea for toning the uterine muscles (for healthier periods)
  • Using reusable menstrual products, or ones made from cotton instead of rayon (for healthier periods and less infections). Rayon is basically just wood pulp :(
Note: If one has repeated UTI infections - request a test for Ureaplasma as it is not a standard clinical test.

Vaginal infection (bacterial and yeast) prevention and treatment:
  • Yeast arrest by Vitanica (yeast)
  • The killer by love wellness (bacteria) or any boric acid suppository (500-600 mg)
  • Prevention: garlic, yogurt, probiotics, avoiding sugar

Mental and cognitive health

  • CBD oil - particularly Dusk by Gossamer for sleep 
  • Magnesium (Calm brand)*
  • Magtech magnesium for brain health

Muscular health and skin/connective tissue

  • Arnica for sprains, bruises, and soreness
  • MSM*
  • Glutamine*
  • Collagen by Garden of Life

Misc

  • Vitamin B1 for avoiding mosquitos

  • Avoiding sugar for everything - lol
  • Astralagus root for lung health
