TEDx LA Miracle Mile!

TEDxLA Miracle Mile

So I know I have had a bit of absence from writing on here. I have been involved in a lot of things lately. I am working on an art project that will be showcased in June in downtown LA, an independent TED project in Los Angeles, and then my hostess job at Pete's Cafe and Bar also in downtown LA.

A lot of you have been curious about my TEDx project. Most of you know what TED is, so I assume I don't have to explain it. TEDx are independent, local conferences that operate under TED licenses. This means we follow some TED rules, some TED format, and then we get the TED name. That's pretty much it!

The theme for our TEDx project is “Food Systems in the 21st Century”, and I am really stoked about it. We are having a little fundraiser [most likely at the Last Bookstore, in downtown LA] with a jazz quartet and a silent auction. The actual event will [hopefully] be happening at the UCLA Lenart Auditorium at the Fowler. With that said, here is our impressive lineup...

John Todd , John Todd EcologicalDesign: Designing the Sustainable Environment
James McWilliams,Texas State University: Achieving Sustainable Agriculture By Reducing/Eliminating Reliance on Animal Agriculture.
John Marshall, CalTech: Speaking For GMO's
Tara Kolla, Silverlake Farms: Urban Farming in Los Angeles: How To Make It Work
